OUR STORY

My Daughter Alexanne dx: 2 years old (2002) She is now 16 years old (2016)
In 2002 my daughter Alexanne (pictured above) was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of two. Within the next seven years, between finger pokes and insulin injections, she had been stuck/poked over 24,000 times. The day before her 9th birthday she was put on an insulin pump which she wears 24/7. We searched for a comfortable case she could wear around her waist to carry her insulin pump in... What we found was NOT very appealing to children. We found solid colors like black or blue, but what fun is that for a kid? It's NOT... and they were not made to withstand the wear and tear of an active kid wearing them 24/7 which would include sleeping in them.
So, I went to the fabric store, bought some FUN fabrics, got out my sewing machine, and away I went... Several trial runs and many mistakes later, I created an insulin pump case that my daughter loved.
In late 2009, I started my online store www.mypumptastic.com and with the help of my wonderful Mother, we now have several different styles of cases to choose from... The C*PAK, The BAND*IT, The SIDE*KICK, The TAG*ALONG, and The Add-On Case for your Dexcom G4. We have many Fun fabrics for kids to choose from along with designs adults will love too. We also have a selection of silicone medical bracelets called D*BANDS and have recently added some Diabetic related T-Shirts for children and adults.
Now there’s a Fun and Stylish way to wear and protect your insulin pump. Being Diabetic is Hard! EVERY DAY we HOPE for a CURE, but until then Pump*tastic will continue to make Type 1 a little FUN!!!
